Philippa Cold

Philippa Cold made her debut from The Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in 2012. She has previously studied at Stockholm Opera Studio and at The royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Since 2011 she has been a lyric soprano and she won great acclaim for her portrayal of Donna Anna in Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’ in Odense. Philippa Cold is currently exploring her new repertoire with Danish Wagnerian soprano Eva Johansson.

In Stockholm she sang The Composer in ‘Ariadne auf Naxos’ by Richard Strauss, ‘Idamante’ in Mozart’s Idomeneo and Donna Elvira in Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni.’ In Birkeroed she has sung the title role of Bizet’s ‘Carmen.’

This summer Philippa has performed on Copenhagen Opera Festival for the first time with the role of Charlotte in ‘A Fairytale in Rosenborg Gardens’ by Danish composer Weyse. In the spring she sang Mabel in ‘Pirates of Penzance’ by Gilbert and Sullivan with Operettekompagniet Polyhymnia at the Court Theatre in Copenhagen.

Within the next year Philippa will perform at Funen Song Society in Odense with German songs and at the song society Societas pro Musica in Aarhus with a programme in Russian.

She will once again star with Operettekompagniet Polyhymnia in the title role of Offenbach’s ‘La belle Hélène’.
