Baritone

Thomas Sigh is educated at The Royal Danish Academy and with Robert Hyman (Stockholm). Masterclasses with among others Christophe Rousset at Académie musicale de Villecroze and Bo Skovhus. Engaged at The Danish Nation Opera where he has sung Colline and Alcindoro in La Bohème, Barone Douphol in La Traviata, Masetto in Don Juan, Angelotti in Tosca, Der Steuerman in Tristan and Isolde and Kuligin in Katja Kabanová among others. Has furthermore sung Apollo/Pastore in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and sung in Proserpin at Musikfestspiele Potsdam as well as a highly acclaimed Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar at Århus Teater. The upcoming season he will sing Moralès in Carmen and Sepa in Enna’s Kleopatra.

Thomas is a frequent solist with both baroque and conventional orchestras like Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Randers Kammerorkester and Baroque Aros in works like Bach’s St John Passion, St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorium, Händel’s Messias, Mozart’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petit Messe Solennelle, Haydn’s Nelson Messe og Carl Nielsen’s Fynsk Forår. Thomas has as a lied singer performed works like Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn and Schumann’s Gesange des Harfners and recorded songs by Henrik and Frederik Rung.
